David Lock Associates, UK

This leading town planning and urban design consultancy wanted to update their corporate identity.

The challenge was to redesign the logo without losing brand recognition and to maintain visual continuity of stationery and marketing material.

Involving DLA at each step, Scarlett Design made minor adjustments to the existing logotype and added a new logo mark consisting of overlapping letter forms using bright colours and fine geometric lines. In due course, once recognition increased, the mark would be able to stand alone as a DLA 'stamp' on drawings and other media.

Single colour and line art versions of the new logo were produced for flexibility of use, along with brand guidelines with information on logo usage, positioning and the new company colour palette.

The new logo was then adjusted for DLA's two sister companies to create a consistent and cohesive “brand voice” across all media.

As well as company stationery, Scarlett Design went on to produce a range of marketing material, a company website and intranet.

DLA’s refreshed identity has been a key element in positioning the business for the future.
